It is also very different because Moose seems to have more of an understanding of whats happening and his mom is a bit on edge as the day of the interview comes closer. Moose and his mom are straining to understand each other in very different ways, such as Moose's mom is not understanding that Natalie is 16 and wont get over the fact that she can't be helped at Esther P. Marinhoff  because she isn't 10 anymore. Part 3 is also different because Moose's mom seems to be having a mental breakdown about whats good or bad for Natalie, something like this has been previously mentioned in the book when an uncle had said to send Natalie to an asylum, and she was obviously not on board with that because after that was mentioned she very angrily told them to get out and was falling apart after that. Another reason is that Moose's mom seems more desperate for Natalie to be  a normal girl or to get the help she needs.
