         <description><![CDATA[<div>Worked: The hands on activity engaged the students well.<br><br>I've had students all read aloud and it works as long as students are trained in appropriate voice level. It's helpful because you can hear them read aloud, but no one else is listening to them so they don't have to feel self-conscious.<br><br>What I would change: It seems like she does a pretty good job, but it does seem like it takes her awhile to get into the text.</div>]]></description>

She modeled, then had the students work together on reading and discussing the text, then worked with individual students. This built the students' schema so they were more successful independently.<br>Different: She looked at comprehension of the characters rather than focusing on their&nbsp;phonemic awareness.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Worked: She engaged the students and clearly had established her expectations.<br>I feel that having the students read together will support the struggling readers so they have others around them to listen to as they learn.&nbsp;<br>Depending on the students' needs, I would change the amount of time she spent having them repeat each word. It sounded like the students were impatient to move one.<br><br></div>]]></description>
