I believe that if we allow all students to have equitable funding, then students will have a better choice of wether students choose to go to college, or gain employment after high school. When I think about this particular case, I think about society if children are not able to receive an education. Of course, there are many characteristics for children that this court case targets. Students need the ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate to others. Students will need to make choices when they get older involving the community, state, and nation. Academic skills will need to be mastered to participate in vocational training and to pursue educational or employment goals. In my opinion, each court finding is consecutive with the outcome being an asset to society.

Determining that all students in NC have the right to the opportunity to receive a sound basic education was a great move. Some of the characteristics included: reading, writing, and speaking the English Language along with knowledge of history and geography. All of the characteristics listed after the court rule prepare students or their role in society after completion of their schooling. Creating a set list of these things was a huge step for adequate education.

Children should have the right to an adequate education no matter where they live. The father was arguing that despite higher tax rates his child was not receiving the same benefits that a wealthier area of school may receive because of funding. Therefore, his child was receiving the same education that other children were. I believe this was an excellent point and that all children should have the same rights to receive an education that prepares them for adulthood. These schools lack the financial means and resources to provide their students with a basic education. funding, and that the State of North Carolina, not local school districts, has the ultimate constitutional obligation to actively safeguard and successfully deliver every child's Leandro right. No exceptions. No excuses. This is a case of equity rather than equality. It would not be equitable for every school district state-wide (or nation-wide) to receive the same amount of funding. It should be based on the needs of the school. The textbook mentions that cities face the greatest financial trouble for various reasons. This ruling helps ensure that these poor schools still provide a sound basic education.

Every person who lives in a state pays taxes that contribute to the creating a successful state system. It is to the benefit of the state to promote education of the students, all students, not just the wealthiest who can support their own schools financially.
Many towns are rural and do not have the property taxes and such that help to support the local funds for schools. Without additional state funding; these students would not be given an equitable education.
