The hospital was extremely unsanitary.

The nursers had to do a whole lot of work.

Some nurses even though used to the smell had hard times sometimes.

The nurses did not fancy the nurse job anymore.

No sanitation was around so many people died from dysentery or typhoid.

For every soldier that died in battle, 2 died of disease.

The understaffed medical teams had little qualification.
