         <description><![CDATA[<div>Day 1-2: Class will answer the question "what are human rights" and create a list of basic rights. Class will jigsaw read the CRC in child friendly language and choose 1-3 words summarizing each right and record on chart paper.<br><br>Day 3: Students will watch Clouds over Sidra and 2 Second a Day videos from Save the Children and discuss how refugee children's rights are not being respected. Students view model Google Slides presentation from teacher on this subject. Students will choose their country (Guatemala, Ethiopia, or other choice) and begin research.<br><br>Day 4: Students explore background resources in order to define and find indigenous peoples. Students conduct research on indigenous children in their chosen country, recording notes on a graphic organizer (prewriting). <br><br>Day 5-6: Students draft online, incorporating teacher revisions. <br><br>Day 7: Students edit work and practice presentations.<br><br>Day 8: Groups present to the class. </div>]]></description>
