Staff Sergeant Nicholas Kouch B Co 3-126 INF 32nd IBCT is the father of Ace Kouch. Nicholas is currently serving as a Rifle Squad Leader in the Michigan Army National Guard. He has been mobilized for hurricane Irene and hurricane Sandy while serving in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was mobilized for the Flint water crisis, President Donald Trump’s Inauguration, and most recently the southwest border while serving in the Michigan Army National Guard.

Clarence DeTurk is the Great Grandfather of Nicholas DeTurk in Mrs. McBrides first grade. He served in the US Army from 1941 -1945 where he fought for our country in WWII in the Pacific. He earned 2 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars for his bravery and sacrifices in WWII.

Nicholas’ grandfather, Jerry DeTurk also served in the US Army during the late 1960’s.

Nicholas’ uncle, Brandon Hackworth is currently a Major in the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and is a veteran of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cormac (left) and Jack O'Halloran, nephews of Mrs. Longfellow. Cormac is currently a first lieutenant in the Army working as an intelligence officer with the 82nd airborne division. Captain Jack is a supply officer working on the USS Makin Island based in San Diego.

Mrs. Petersen’s Papa Bud…fought in WWII in Europe in 1945. He would tell stories of sleeping under the stars and being very cold in the winter. “It was always a treat to get chocolate.” I think that’s why he always hid chocolate candy in the freezer. He passed away in 2017. ❤️

Kerry Krentz entered the Navy in Feb 7th 1968, discharged honorably in 1972 Feb 7th .

Spent 1st -6months in boot camp and Culinary School. Then went shipboard as a cook on the USS Albany, a guided missile cruiser ship for 2 1/2 years. Sailed across the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea and circled at sea off the coast of Israel for many months.

Chad Pomeroy is the uncle of Pepper Dutkiewicz in Mrs. Petersens Kindergarten class. Chad joined the U.S Army as a Infantryman in 2001. After multiple deployments to Iraq from 2002 to 2007 he was injured and had to retire at the rank of Sergeant in 2010.

Upper left is Chris, who was an infantry sergeant in the Marines from 2006-2017.

Upper right, is their Grandpa Dana, who was in the Army from 1983-1986 and served as Specialist 4, military police in Fort Ritchie/Site R.

Lower right is their Great Grandpa Dave who served in the Navy. He worked on the aircraft carriers and was a jet mechanic.

Lower left is their great Grandpa Emmett. He was in the Army and is on the left-hand side of the tank picture. He worked on tanks as a mechanic. Grandpa Emmett fought in World War II and was on the Normandy beach campaign.

Jensen Longieliere would like to give his mom the biggest HAPPY VETERANS DAY. His mom, Stevi M., served 12 years in the Navy working as a Hospital Corpsman for the marines. She sacrificed her time and effort to call on the sick and injured. She served from 2010-2021 and has a number of awards to show for her selfless sacrifice. She makes Jensen so proud.

To those who gave all and paid the ultimate sacrifice, we thank you for your service.
