Common theme: Pros and cons of Technology

Step 1: Introduce facts and opinions in English and French classes using different approaches.

Step 2: Read texts on technology uses. The English teacher emphasizes annotation techniques where learners will differentiate facts and opinions.

Step 3: In preparation of a questionnaire on the attitudes towards technology that the French class would implement and the English class will prepare, in terms of questions, the I.T. lab introduce different forms to create surveys.

Step 4: English 803 prepare the questions for the survey.

Step 5: The students create their surveys in the IT class and share them for other middle school students to fill them.

Step 6: Students work in pairs in the French class to analyze the survey results in terms of the pros and cons of technology. They identify whether the responses were mostly based on facts or opinions.

Students fill a rubric to evaluate their analysis of the survey questions.

Step 7: Using the results of the survey, the English 803 class writes a mini-research study following the example given and analyzed in class.

Once done, students evaluate each other’s mini-research studies, following a rubric on writing mini-research studies provided by the teacher.
