I am proud to be a feminist, who is married to a feminist. I believe that we are all global citizens, and that through education, and speaking about our emotions, fears, feelings, etc, we can reach peace. I l really, really love my dogs and my cat.

I believe that if I had to some up all 7 of my words into one, it would still be learner. Every day, I learn how to be a better wife, better student, better researcher, and yes, better dog-cat mom. But of course, I did not like crossing anything out. As I find that I am all of those things, and it would be impossible to use just one word to describe me, or any of us. We are not that simple. 

Reflection is important, especially in regard to our personal identities because it helps to remind us that we are not the center of the world. That we must maintain the ideals behind being a global citizen, and what it means to be an open-minded person. Reflection in cross cultural dialog is important because we all have different life experiences, and its good for us to openly discuss things we don't understand, or in retrospect, are proud of. Participants might speak with someone from a different background than them, which might humanize a conflict for them. ]]> 2017-01-26 01:36:02 UTC https://padlet.com/jennamcswanson/xgh1zmfdqk07/wish/149494074
