My plan is to take children to outdoor experience, fun activity and collect autumn leaves. children can feel difference when they touch dry and fresh leaves.

Goal: Sound coming from dry leaves when they scrunch them with hands or feet while collecting and exploring.

Movement/dance activity:

My plan is to dance and swaying the branches making music, sing and dance together in natural environment.

Goal: Enjoy, Dance and move our body feel like we are part of tree, our hands and arms are branches.

Drama activity:

My plan is to give children all natural material to explore in their own way, in an open- ended activity.

Goal: children can use their own connection, creativity and imagination to create some beautiful things.

Aboriginal connection: By engaging children in activity using natural materials like leaves, stones, twigs and branches etc are fostering an appreciation of land and encouraging a closer relationship with nature, aligning with indigenous perspectives.

I tried to make children feel same connection that I felt in nature's lap. I experience sounds of nature from wind, leaves and birds. It was fun and exciting for them to experience natural materials which are open- ended and easily available. They have created music, movement and drama with natural materials which was my goal for children to feel the beauty of nature and be creative.

According to another study of Unicef music affects children from mother's womb from week 18. At early age, they bounce, sway, move their hands in response to music they hear. It helps in the development of brain and later on helpful in solving mathematical problems. (How Music Affects Your Baby’s Brain: Mini Parenting Master Class, n.d.)

In reading "creative dance for early childhood" describe the importance of movement. dance is fun and rewarding for children. Modern child psychology describe that children learn by doing and engage their bodies to see, hear, touch what interests them.(Creative Dance for Early Childhood |, 2020)

The reading "The importance of pretend play" Hoffman and Russ, 2012 says that children who participate in complex, collaborative, pretend play are better able to regulate their emotions and implement creative problem-solving. Children develop social- skills, cooperation, collaboration, sharing and negotiating skills in pretend play. (Lark Wallin, 2019)

children showed their interest and wonder for activities. They were connected to land while playing with natural materials creating things according to their imagination. They were collecting leaves of different shapes, colours and sizes. They were so happy while creating river, trees, humans with natural materials. children show collaboration, sharing and negotiating while their play.

What did not went as expected?

Children who were distracted easily from around with toys and things. The routine of the centre distract their play as well. children need more time to show their creativity and imagination.

What might I can do different next time?

I will make activities more fun and engaging to make all children feel inclusive. Research more about aboriginal people and share it with children. I will try to give children time with no-limits to show their creativity and imagination with natural materials outdoor which has unlimited possibilities os creativity, fun and engagement.

My future teacher practices

In my future teaching practices, I will introduce and reflect whatever I learn about nature and natural materials . I will better incorporate Aboriginal perspectives , practices in similar outdoor activities. Introduce more natural material instead of other toys which made purposely for particular possibilities. More physical activities in natural environment.

Overall reflection on my changed perspectives

From this unit I learned about possibilities of learning through simple music, movements and drama which are helpful in child's growth, development in all perspectives with natural materials. There are endless possibilities in nature to learn from and play with. children can feel connected to land and nature at same time while exploring nature.
