Thankful for our weekly discipleship time together. I'm grateful for technology, zoom, and even the pandemic that allowed for virtual meetings to be possible. Thankful that we're able to bond with families and friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ virtually.

One encouraging note for this year:
Don't give up even when things get tough. It may seem like a lot, juggling work, family, child, chores, ministry, and more. But remember 1 Cor 15:58-Always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Remember that even the smallest act of kindness, grace, and patience counts in God's kingdom. Do not underestimate labor done in the name of the Lord. Remember to not do ministry in a way that hinders God's work in your own heart. Fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith! (2 Tim 4:7)

1. One think I am thankful for is how welcoming and smooth the transition from home to Davis was. The week before I left, I was bombarded with so much support and last minute memories. I left really happy with my relationship with my parents and my friends. When I got to Davis, I was really shocked by how much lovely and inviting people there was at Grace Point, Klesis, and the First Baptist Church. Although my family was away, I felt like another Davis family quickly formed, even though I didn't really do anything. I'm so grate for Lynn especially for making me feel at home here :)

I remember having Carl, Josh, Carl, Jane and Brenda over at our house for lots of different meals, and just sharing our lives and our home with them. We studied the Bible together, shared from our devotions and reminded ourselves of the gospel as we went through course material. I couldn't have imagined a better life. I am so blessed to be doing ministry-- trying to share the gospel with others who share the same heart and vision.

Something I am thankful for looking back on this summer is: Klesis Church group, my friends for reminding me of my faith in God, and my family for reminding me of my identity in Him and being there for me. The Klesis church group has allowed me to meet alumni who are kind, funny, and faithful in His word. I am grateful that I was able to join this group in the beginning, and I hope you are able to continue growing in God's word with this group. i am thankful for my friends for reminding me that I am created in God's image and that I am beautiful... despite the fears that cloud my mind at times. I am grateful for Daddy, Mommy and Michelle for always sticking by my side, listening to me talk and for reminding me of God's word.

To Future Christine:
Christine! Be proud of yourself for how far you've come. By the time you see this, you are already a first year in college!! EXCITING~ I hope that you are not struggling too much with your classes—take a breath and remember that He has never left your side. Mountains can move—but his covenant, love and kindness to you has never left. Not even once. I wish that you would turn to Him in difficult times where you may be struggling academically, missing home (but the fam can always visit :-), or any struggles you may have. Remember the Klesis Church Group—you can always go there to talk of any of your struggles and how you may be wavering. Christine, remember high-school. You got through that, and you can do it again but this time it's with a group of Christians who love God more than anything, friends who are willing to be there for you, a loving family, and most importantly God is always on your side! Never forget. So don't spend your time wallowing in your fears, overthinking and ruminating but go read a verse and reflect. You can do it! I believe in you! Don't be stressed about school and take a break. Break examples: reading Bible, praying, working out, talking to friends.

2)
2 Corinthians 4:7-18 "7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.

13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

Christian life is going to be tough, and we are going to humbled by the different ways we are afflicted, we fall short, or our sin issues, yet despite us being vulnerable as these jars of clay. God chooses to store treasure within us, the gospel message. God is also using all the difficulties and hardship to prepare for the eternal weight of glory which in the grand scheme of things is bigger than our current struggles.
