I was born to my first-generation immigrant parents in Charlotte, NC. I am a Charlottean. My parents' origin is from India from two different states. My grandpa and grandma on both paternal and maternal sides are from India.

My dad was working at an IT company. He was able to get a foreign project and establish residency. He went back and married my mom and brought her here. They had me in February 2008.

Immigration laws, especially under the new administration, have made it harder for our family in India to get a visa and come here. I usually go to India about every 2 years. This makes me enjoy the trip more.
