I live with my family that includes my husband and my three children. My family is a driving factor for my everyday life. We are an active family often busy with school, sports, and outdoor activities.

I am a Para-educator at the elementary school that my children attend. I love being close to my children and making a difference for all of the students at our school. As much as I enjoy my job, I also chose it out of necessity. Working at the same school my children attend allows me to have a job while also being able to care for my children in the way that I want to, because we have the same school/work schedules. In the past, I’ve had to leave jobs in order to be there for my children.

Since being diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis my health and quality of life has changed drastically. Learning of my diagnosis has helped me learn how to take care of myself better and in return my mental and physical health has improved.

Hobbies

I have many hobbies. However, hiking and being outdoors is my main passion. When my children were very young I found joy in being outdoors. Playing in a creek, or searching for rocks at the beach allowed me to enjoy my rambunctious babies in a setting where I didn’t have to worry about how loud they were or trying to contain them. Over time, as they grew, hiking became a favorite hobby for the whole family.

I live in the thumb of Michigan. My family and I live next to Lake Huron. This part of my environment shapes the way we live our daily lives. Currently, temperatures are so cold that we haven’t had outdoor recess for the past two week. In the summers we spend many of our days lounging at the beach for hours. Even in the winter my family and I frequent the beach.
