I thought it would be really good but it wasn't. The movie was nothing about the book. Gil Kenan the director of this movie was also in the movie Monster House. It did not meet my expectations. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The movie is about finding the way out of this dark city. It is pretty basic because I have seen a lot of movie's just like this. I think it is decently written but I think it could be way better and more exciting. I think that the audience should be 7 to 10 years old and it should be for Male and Female. I would not recommend this movie because of how different it is from the movie and even the characters were different. For example, Doon looks like he is 21 years old and Lina looks 14.

The movie mostly had a cheap production and was slightly messy. It goes off very quickly, and it skips most of what would build up the movie. The movie also has a very rushed ending.
 I don't like this movie because it doesn't follow the movie and doesn't have anything that was just put on the spot in a rush. In the movie, most of what we see is only half of the original story, and because of this, the movie feels really quick and hard to follow. There are also a lot of random action scenes that are awkwardly placed like the mole chase that came out of nowhere! I suggest this to a younger audience because it would probably seem more appetizing to someone who may not worry about the production. This movie is a remake of the first book in the city of ember series. My expectations were very high for the movie just because of how good the book was. I have never seen any of the movies by the director of ember, and i dont think i want too. The movies did not meet my expectations. The movie ember is a action children's movie. The movie is set underground, and the concept is how to get out of ember, and if doon and lina can even get out. I think the plot is very original, i personally haven't seen anything like this plot. Although the plot is very boring and repetitive, the film is not well written at all and is not believable, however the theme is very consistent. In conclusion, i think the movie audience would be 5-8 years old, depending on how mature the kid is. Some of the other movies by the director are "a boy called chistmas", "Airman" and more. I would recemend this to a 8-10 year old. there was so much from the book that was left out of the movie. It is also full  of lies unlike the book. The movie could have been a lot better than it was.
