Leiva, in his solo career (albums like Diciembre or Monstruos), took that even further: he continued to explore daily emotions (nostalgia, bottled-up anger, love, disillusionment) but with a richer, more atmospheric production. He layered textures and subtle arrangements, creating a sound where every instrument and effect adds to the emotional weight of the song — all without losing the simple, heartfelt spirit of his lyrics.

Naturally, I am very familiar with it, and this choice will make the editing and production process much smoother and more efficient for me.

Logic Pro offers a wide range of professional tools that allow me to shape my songs exactly as I envision them.
With its extensive library of virtual instruments, I can add layers of texture and depth to my guitar-based compositions, giving each song its own distinct atmosphere.
Recording high-quality audio is simple and reliable, ensuring that vocals, guitars, and other elements are captured with clarity and precision.

Editing is fast and intuitive — I can cut, move, quantize, and fine-tune. It has a great variety of built-in effects such as reverb, delay, distortion, and compression allow me to sculpt the sound creatively. Another major advantage is automation, which lets me create dynamic changes in volume, panning, or effects parameters throughout the song, bringing greater life and movement to the production.

With the use of templates and the Drummer tool, I can quickly build realistic rhythm sections and focus more on the creative aspects of arrangement and storytelling.

Finally, with logic I can mix and master the entire project within the same environment ( my room)

Next, I did what I like to call 'preparing the ground for the song'. This involved setting the tempo and key from the upper central section of Logic Pro’s interface, in order to establish the musical foundation of the project.

Then—an especially important step—I set the tempo for the project. Naturally, each song has a different tempo, and by setting it at the start, any drum pattern or preset loop added later would automatically adjust to that tempo, which makes the production process much smoother.

After that, I moved on to what I call 'warming up'. Basically, I played through the song’s chord progression, trying to keep a steady tempo—as a sort of practice run before recording. This step is particularly useful because, in some cases—especially when playing arpeggios—it can be hard to maintain a consistent tempo without first rehearsing.

Once I was warmed up, I started recording the harmonies for the songs. To help me stay in time during recording, I enabled the metronome option in Logic Pro, which served as a constant rhythmic guide.

I recorded the harmonies using my rhythm guitar, dividing the work into sections. I started with the first verse, then recorded the bridge, and finally the choruses. Breaking it down this way allowed me to focus on each section of the song with more detail and precision.

Once the harmony was complete—with its bridges, choruses, and a few guitar solos—I moved on to recording the vocals. I found this part fun because it felt like building my own karaoke track. You might be wondering: what about the drums? Well, in some songs, I added the drums before recording the harmonies because, for that particular track, it felt more comfortable to work that way. In other cases, I saved the drums for last, also because it felt more natural for me in that context.

Once the song was finished, I listened to it several times to figure out which parts felt a bit empty or where I could add effects like echo, reverb, or delay to give the track more depth and texture.

• Inspiration

  To create my compositions, I’ll talk a little about my influences. My first song, "I Was Dreaming," I would say is strongly influenced by a song called "Histericos" by the Spanish singer Leiva.

The Leiva’s song is using a C major scale! (Same like me)

Leiva is using different progressions for different parts of the song.

Verse: C, F , Am, G, F / Em, G, C

Chorus: Am, F, C, G, G7 / Am, F, C, G, G7

Again the song and lyrics are very melodic and keeping the same level, quiet, sweet and relax to hear  ( no crechiendo)
I like how the song it flows. You just go with the melody, it cradles you.

 The lyrics are romantic, saying basically: It was bad before ( was like black mirror ) but after all here we are again.

For my song ( I was dreaming ) I am using the same key (C major scale) the difference is I am using different chords progression.

Verse: C, F, Am, G

Bridge: C7, F7, Am, G

Chorus: Am, G, F, C

My song if has a similar gentle strumming pattern, also an understated verse melody going to a more passionate chorus with mainly higher pitch.

I have a guitar solo towards the ends of the song which uses repetitions of a small figure and like in Leiva’s song, in my song you can hear a major and a minor thirds alternating in the solo.

The structure of the song is simple and organic, designed to reflect the casual, everyday feeling suggested by the title — stepping out for a coffee, letting thoughts and emotions flow naturally.

In the first chorus, the progression changes slightly to create more emphasis: it alternates between D major and A minor. During this part, the lyrics repeat the line: "salgo a tomar café... salgo a tomar café", reinforcing the song's relaxed and reflective mood. After the chorus, there’s a short bridge that plays with just two chords: C major and G major, creating a soft transition before moving into the second verse.

The second verse mirrors the structure and progression of the first. However, when reaching the second chorus, something changes: the chord sequence is reversed, now going G major – C major – A minor – D major.
This shift in the progression gives the second chorus a deeper, more emotional feel, intensifying the song’s mood.

A small second bridge follows, leading into a final chorus. This last chorus returns to the pattern of the first chorus (D major and A minor) but with a new lyrical twist: the Spanish phrase "regresa de tomar café", meaning "comes back from having coffee".

This ending adds a sense of closure and reflection, completing the emotional journey of the song.

With a rawer and more direct energy. I Feel Sick starts off strong from the very first verse, building tension over the chords of A minor (Am) and D minor (Dm).

A brief bridge introduces a harmonic descent from F major (F) to G major (G), naturally resolving back to A minor (Am). This moment leads into a catchy riff that moves through a sequence of Am, D major (D), G major (G), and returns to Am, creating an immersive cycle that defines the character of the track.

After the riff, the structure of the third and fourth verses is repeated, but this time with greater speed and a more powerful drum track that drives the song forcefully toward its ending. This final acceleration brings a sense of urgency that intensifies the song’s emotional message.

The lyrics play with ambiguity: at times, it feels like a letter addressed to a woman; at others, like a confession to a distant land. This interplay between the tangible and the symbolic allowed me to explore a more complex emotion: a love that doesn’t fade, whether for a place or a person. I wanted that confusion to be intentional, because that’s how nostalgia feels—hazy, immersive, and at times, whimsical.

The LP I’m creating will consist of 4 songs. All of them are composed by me and will explore different genres, but if I had to define the style I’ll be using, I’d say something along the lines of alternative rock.

• Potential or actual audiences/market

Like I said. I can define my songs in the alternative rock genre. I feel this is a very broad musical genre, I can interpret that my target segment will be broad as well.

By age I can speak bout:

Teens to mid-30s are the core audience—many discover alt-rock during high school or college.

Millennials (late 20s to 50s) who grew up with '90s and early 2000s alt-rock (like Radiohead, Nirvana, The Strokes, etc.) still actively follow the genre.

Geographic markets:

North America and Europe (especially the UK, Germany, and Scandinavia) have strong alt-rock fan bases.

Latin America and Asia (Japan, South Korea, Indonesia) also have growing interest in alternative and indie music scenes.

Subcultures:

Indie/DIY music fans – people who follow underground or non-mainstream music.

College & university students – always a strong target for new bands with a fresh sound.

Online platforms:

Fans on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and YouTube.

Communities on Reddit (r/indieheads, r/alternativerock), Discord servers, and Instagram/TikTok where alt-rock content is shared.

I once had that, I started humming a melody but without saying anything. When I was confident about the melody, I just started improvising a lyric for that melody and it appeared: Baby… I want to tell you something, something baby…

Usually is always like that:

-Create chord progression

-Create melody

-Add lyrics. Most all the time I put on paper what I am feeling, as a form of therapy.

-Try to find a new chord progression that it sounds different from previous creations. To solve that I am trying to use a different key all the time when I am creating.

-Create the song solo. Usually, I try to create a solo with the notes that form the different chords, but I am quite bad finding a catchy solo. For our original song was Jakub who solved with his guitar solo.

-Fitting the abilities of the players. In the case of out original song was not a problem. Once I shared the chord progression and the intro with the band, they just jumped on it and started adding their parts.

But above all, I spent a lot of time looking for tutorials to help me solve technical problems I encountered.

The first one, which I spent several hours on, was: Why does my guitar sound very quiet when I record?
At first, it seemed like a matter of just turning up the volume—either on the guitar, on the external audio interface, or in the Logic Pro software. But no matter what I tried, I couldn’t find a solution.
In the end, the solution was actually much simpler. I discovered that the external audio interface is connected to my Mac via a USB port. The Mac has several ports to connect different devices, but what I found out was that... each port has a different power output (I’m not sure if this happens on all computers).
It turns out that the most powerful port on my Mac was the first one starting from the left corner. Once I reconnected the audio interface to that port, all my sound issues with the guitar disappeared.

For the recording of the songs, I used an electric guitar (Chapman ML2 Pro), which, although it’s mainly designed for heavier styles, is quite versatile thanks to its coil-split option.
I also used a Fender electro-acoustic guitar for some rhythm guitar sections (such as in the song Algo dulce). In that same song, I used my ukulele to accompany the guitar during the choruses and to add harmonies in some parts. Finally, I used a Casio CT-S400 keyboard.

What I did to fix it was turn on the microphone in Logic Pro and record the piano that way. I also turned on the keyboard and cranked up the volume so the mic could pick it up well.

To record the ukulele, I used the same strategy since the ukulele isn’t electro-acoustic.
