Nancy Bauer had a profound impact on me as a student at Kingswood from my first class with her. Her teaching shifted my feelings about studying history, so I signed up for every class she taught. I loved and appreciated how she engaged me in looking at other cultures and other eras and was heartbroken when she left Kingswood before my Senior year.

She went on from teaching at her alma mater Kingswood in the history department, to serving as the founding director of the Organizational Dynamics program at University of Pennsylvania, pioneering interdisciplinary graduate education for working professionals within the College of Liberal and Professional Studies. An expert in learning theory, she led the program until 1987 and remained a lecturer until her retirement in 2018.
