I wish everyone to spend holidays with people we love, I wish that there wouldn't be any lonely heart on Christmas.
My best familly tradition is that we eat very ancient samogitian meals and share our memories about loved people, who are gone.

In my family Christmas traditions are that we go to our grandma and grandpa first evening of Christmas and we call that day (Kūčios)
In Lithuania and we eat 12 dishes that day for good luck whole year.

I want to tell you about my family tradition, this is my family's main tradition: is the whole family decorates The Christmas tree have Christmas Eve dinner that consists of 12 dishes (fish, fruit, vegetables, but no meat).

With that I wanted to share one of my family's funny traditions. On Christmas Eve we take our shoe turn our backs to the door and throw it over the right shoulder if the front of the shoe is pointing to the door you will travel a lot that year and if it points to the house you'll stay at home.

I would like to share one of my country's tradition - putting hay under the table on the Christmas Eve.
It's simple as that. We put a bunch of hay under the table and pull one each. If you pull a long one - you will have a good year. If you pull out the short one - you will have a bad year

Christmas is a beautiful time for everyone. Everything is decorated and happy. In Greece we usually decorate trees or ships. People here make some sweets called kourabiedes and melomakarona and on the day when the year changes they make a cake called basilopita. On that day the parents give the presents to their children and after the change of time they cut the cake (basilopita). Happy christmass to everyone and happy new year!!

Christmas is the happiest time of the year! Everything in the streets is decorated. One of my favorite traditions in Greece is basilopita. Basilopita is a cake that we eat after the new years. Inside that cake, we hide a coin. We say that whoever gets the coin means that they will be lucky for the rest of the year. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!

Our favorite family tradition is during the morning of the first day of the new year when we all together prepare waffles and pancakes with chocolate or honey and cinnamon, because we want all the year to be sweet, spicy and full of moments with the beloved persons.
