Diagnosis: If a doctor suspects you have strep throat, they will ask your symptoms and do a simple physical test to check for strep by doing a swab of the throat then testing the swab for the bacteria.
Treatment: Strep throat can be treated with antibiotics. Doctors usually prescribe penicillin or amoxicillin as a first choice
(CDC)

"Strep: Where Do We Go From Here?" analyzes the immune response of children after having group A strep (GAS). The scientists are using this to research about a possible vaccine against GAS. The most surprising findings was the unreliability of the immune system after encountering GAS. They are still working towards a vaccine for strep throat! (No images were in the article, so I added one!)
