Some of my favorite elements are the concept of a single note, musical inventory, and closeness. Repeating a single note adds emphasis to a song wherever it needs to be. It makes you appreciate the song more because your brain is trying to differentiate the difference in the same notes. What I took from the reading was that musical inventory is much like the process of becoming a fan of one's music. The concept of closeness is more of an abstract element, which to me means it’s not something the listener can point out right off the top of the song. I think these are my favorite elements because they involve some of my favorite songs. Sometimes I did find it rather hard to find example songs that matched well with the element.
