We should learn to practice and develop our empathy.”

- “Having too much of it, could lead to a problem”
- We have to be mindful of how to reflect it back; Facial expressions, posture etc., because empathy is rooted in our body.
- To help us better understand their problem. You have to be intentional and purposeful on how to mirror. You will use mirroring to better understand them.
- If you are mature, prone to reflecting back the trauma of your students. It is possible for you to adopt their trauma.
- Your facial expressions have a direct influence on students' feelings after they share with you.
- This is about the student. We have to refrain from giving too much information.

Here are my key takeaways:
1. We must learn how to be resilient and practice self-compassion. It's okay not to be okay because we are also human. (Dealing with Secondary Stress and Vicarious Trauma in a Digitalized Learning Environment)
2. We can't predict what will happen if we try something new. but we can learn and improve things by trying new things. (Regenerate with Change)
3. You don't have to ignore the reality of the situation but you can change how you view it. Use the experience of being out of your comfort zone to seize opportunities. (Coping with Change)

LPODS Takeaways - Teacher Matty

So far, I have attended 2 LPODS Sessions, but I will watch the 3rd one later today. But so far in the sessions that I've attended, it was very interesting and I've learned a lot.

First Session talks about Dealing with Secondary Stress and Vicarious Trauma in a Digitalized Learning Environment. I've learned that even us teachers, even if we want to be compassionate we our students, we have to control our emotions as well, because we could be influenced by the sadness and depression that our students are experiencing. We should be able to handle our emotions and to professionally help and if ever we'll need it, we should have circles to rely on as well so that the problems that we acquire won't pile up and make us feel miserable in the workplace and in the classroom.

Second Session talks about CHAIR YOGA: I am a person who always have backpains and body pains due to having to sit all day and having to practice and to have chair yoga is really relaxing and gave me a break to heavy things to learn about our subject.

Crises are great opportunities - It's all about the mindset: Many people discover many passions such as plantito/plantita. “Crises can be a challenge, an opportunity for something better, self-discovery, etc.”

Have a sense of meaning - Go back to your Why? More than to educate, teachers are to make an impact. Point to Ponder (on your own): Why does this change have to happen? I don’t really think of a reason why we should change even if everything is just fine. “Fine”, a one word wherein this perception of mine improves. Change happens because of Fine, should we just take the fine. I think we are bound to greatness.

Acknowledge the change - It's okay not to be okay

Negativity should be limited to a bare minimum - Good things come to an end but so do all bad things. When we move on, we tend to leave the situation from the past. When we move forward, we bring the lessons from our experiences up to now.

Gratefulness is key- It's always about seeing yellow in the dark

Embrace the change- Coexist with change. Change is the only constant thing in the world. It is that we accept the struggle that comes with it.
