One new thing I tried with my GT classes was having them create a group paper slides project. We had just finished reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare. I had them choose a scene (pick a card) to modernize. Then they created paper slides to create the modernized scene. They used iPads to film their scene.

Once upon a time, I had my students choose a biography to read and become an expert on that person. Then, for the final project, the students would dress up as that person and give a speech like a Wax Museum figure. As an alternative, for many students who fear speaking in front of others, I thought they could present their information using Screencastify. They create a Google Slide presentation of only visuals marking important events in that person's life. Then they write a script and use Screencastify to narrate over these slides for their presentation.

Students hold up the letter or symbol that goes with the answer they choose. I can easily scan the plicker cards to see who got it right or wrong.
