One thing that I like to do to help myself cope with stresses is to mkae sure I have enough me time. Wether it be a quiet weightlifting session by myself or a nice hot shower, I believe making sure you have the time for yourself cna make all the difference. This is my favourite for de-stressing

Another good thing that I bewlieve reduces my stress levels is taking time for friends. I can go for bike rides, swimming, partying, BBQ even just hanging out at their place can make all the difference. This can also have it's only challeneges and stresses but I still feel like I get more out of it then it takes.

Lastly I like to practice healthy eating and nutrition. Getting a balanced diet and maintaining yourself so you feel good is a must in my opinion. Balanced diet will not only make you feel better, healthier and stronger it provides your body its essentials. I feel like without a healthy and nutritious diet you get sick easier, feel grosser and are less ready to take on the day which can all add stress in my opinion.

Letting it bother me will completely throw me off.

The second thing I can do is to gently shift my attention away from the point of stress and think on something, perhaps a movie or book. When I allow myself to think on something more optimistic than the situation I am in it will certainly affect my mood and calm me down, i.e Picture yourself at a ski lodge, do you take the skis or the snowboard? Do you take the large hill or the smaller hill?
-Kevin Hamann

I cope with stress first and foremost by being social. Whether with friends or just going out for a drink where other people are, I find getting away from the situation helps me a great deal, and having people to talk to is a great resource for coping.

Taking time to myself is sometimes needed to cope as well. If it's a really stressful situation that I don't want to involve others in, I'll go and have some quiet 'me time'. Whether drawing, going for a walk or just listening to good music, it helps to take my mind off the situation.

Finally I found lately that balancing my lifestyle out works quite well to lower the stress I have. By that I mean keeping to a regular sleep pattern, eating more consistently and healthier, things like that.

Matt Gustafson

I like talking with my husband, he always puts my stress in perspective in a way that I can understand. Relaxing with our friends, laughing and having fun helps me understand that life is too short to stress about all my problems. Sometimes hearing other peoples problems makes mine seem less of a worry. When I exercise, I'm thinking about what I should be doing not what I'm stressed about. I'm enjoying being out and doing something healthy for my myself.
Linda Byrne
