It's heartening to see the students gain a boost of confidence when they hear themselves read and experience a sense of achievement when they practise reading in a comfortable and safe environment at home. The importance of parent support in the early years of language learning is so critical and it's great to see how the reading experience has fostered a stronger bond between the struggling readers with their peers and also with their parents.

It is wonderful to see the students' efforts with the involvement of their parents at home. It will be good to roll this out to other students who are also having difficulty reading. It will also be good to showcase the students reading to the parents during the P1 Orientation so that the parents are aware what is expected of their child.

I would like to adopt this for my P1 in 2025. Reading is the key to all learning so it is essential for all to be good in reading. Then comes reading with understanding. It will be good to collaborate with the parents too.

It's great to see that the students gain more interest in wanting to improve their conclusion writing and are giving suggestions of how they would be able to learn more. I like how the strategy guides students to have a structured way of thinking about concluding their story and not end it too abruptly without linking back to the title.

I like the acronym HFMD. It’s a good jump start and tool to help the students write better with details. The use of SLS and class point are also good options for student engagement and participation. I can think about using this strategy for my LP as well.

As a member of the Middle Primary PLT team, I enjoyed the rigor of Action Research as it provided a structured way to crystallise and communicate our learning. Use of the writer's booster card to improve students' vocabulary. It is a great way to differentiate for students with different abilities. Wondering if it is a physical card or something that is flashed on the screen?

Face, Action, Voice (FAV)

Structured way to make thinking visible. Students planned their FAV of their characters on a graphic organiser before writing a paragraph. Helps students to come up with their own phrases.

It is good for the students to be able to explore and try out their own interesting phrases. It allows them to think out of the box. I can use this in lower primary with coming up with vocabulary phrases that they can use.

The booster card is a great help in enhancing students' use of vocab in their writing. Relevant vocabs (to the topic of their writing) in the booster card are also important so that the students can use them appropriately. I have seen student who used 'picturesque' to describe a car accident scene 0_0... Of course, there are also generic vocabs that can be used in any writing.

Visible thinking routines like 'See, think. wonder' encourages students to make careful observations and thoughtful interpretations. The big idea of helping our students appreciate language to express emotions and vivid images through building a rich repository of vocabulary is a good and timely booster for students to write better at P5.
