I was born in the Philippines. Being born is a special place that I'll always hold dear in my heart because it's like my mother land and who doesn't love the place they were born. Though I am now an American citizen, my heart and soul will always be part of the Philippines and is something I'm proud of.

My dad passed away when I was 1 years old so I didn't know him very well but to what my mom and older sister told me, he was a man who lived life helping those around him. From big to small problems my dad helped out through the best of his capabilities with a smile. During my dads funeral my mom told me that over 1,000 people came to his funeral which really surprised me. It really astonished me to how the smallest of generosities led to so many people respecting him. My dad was born to help others around him with open arms and knowing this is really makes happy to know the type of person he was through the people he has helped too my families experience with him while he was alive.

My mom at the time when I was young was the one who struggled a lot when I was young. Having to take care of 3 children while coping with the death of my dad really made me think how unimaginable that feeling is and how it's something not even the average person can fathom to experience with such a bombardment of stress it's kinda scary in a way. Though my mom went through such a tough time in her life she managed to hold on to the rail with full grip still intact. My mom is a very strong willed person and to have her in my life as a mother is amazing. This goes to show for me that even the someone can fall into depths of despair, as long as they hold on they can prevail.

When I was 12 I started to be really interested in martial arts and started to practice it both with a sensei and through my own self teachings. I did taekwondo, wing chun, and some muay thai. Through these experiences I've learned more patience, respect, etc. I am also a big fan of Bruce Lee and is someone who is very inspiring to me.

Quote

"If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done." - Bruce Lee

This is one of many of Bruce Lee's quotes but I chose this one because I am someone who always thinks of things and the most logically way of doing a certain tasks and problems. I usually overthink such things and in a way it hinders me as a human being because when I think to seriously I always have this consciousness that doubts me saying things likes "What if it's wrong." or "No don't do that you'll embarrass yourself!" These thoughts always obstruct me from ever getting something done and in a way only makes the task or situation worse. As human beings we tend to have this seriousness in our life and in a way makes us more miserable than we really are. We always have this uncertainty of the true meaning of life but perhaps there is none and perhaps your just supposed to live it while sharing with others the absurdity of it through laughs, smiles, and love. This quote branched of to a much deeper topic but It connects with the quote fairly well because to put it short do it without overthinking and be done. This is a motto I like to have.

There's a specific experience/memory when I was a child and it had to do with me running in the rain. The reason why this is something that always comes to my mind is because when I was a child running in the rain at that moment made me feel so free and happy. At the sudden thoughts that went in my head, I contemplated and thought that perhaps life as a goal is not to become wealthy, gain status and power but instead find happiness through the things that you do.

During my first school years I was usually the quiet kid and I may still be am. But as school went on and days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years, I've experienced both good and bad things. Through the struggles and hopes it molded me into how I interact with others and how I see people and their personalities. I am one who has lately opened up to many different subjects and clubs. One subject for instance I picked was dance and god knows I haven't dance since 1st grade when I had a little fun dance competition. Knowing my amateur skill of it I decided to try it out and hopefully get something out of it. Doing this subject also helped me open up more as a person and talk about the things that I like.
