In the article, “Beyond Malala, Six Teenagers Changing the World.” The author teaches the reader how teenagers are constantly changing the world in creative and appealing ways. One example given was a 14-year-old girl named Zea Tongeman. She realized that technology could be used for good, so she designed an app called Jazzy Recycling. Jazzy Recycling turned recycling into a game and her idea was an instant success among people of all ages. You use the app to scan bits of recyclable trash and find places to recycle, then you are rewarded for your efforts. Celebrities backed her clever idea and helped her launch the real app. This article shows that when teenagers are sparked to take action for a cause, they find a clever way to change the world for the better. 

Mundane: lacking interest or excitement; dull. 

Tiresome: causing one to feel bored or annoyed. 

Activists: A person who campaigns to bring about political or social change. 

Identity – the characteristics deciding who or what a person or thing is. 

Expression – the fact of being who or what a person or thing is. 

Rebellion – the action or process of resisting authority, control, or convention. 

     According to Dr. Beresin, activism is good for teens. It gives teenagers an identity by giving them, “a strong sense of self” (Beresin, 2018). It, also, lets them express their emotions and creativity into one cause. It can let teenagers feel connected with a group of their peers and gives them recognition of a “greater mission” (Beresin, 2018). Finally, it lets adolescents’ brains grow and develop into, “budding philosophers — or lawyers” (Beresin, 2018).
