We can waste so much time doing an activity because it's cute/we like it/we've always done it, but it doesn't match the standard. We also need to take the time to plan to make sure we are strategic in our instruction because of the crunched time we have. The kids can definitely tell when we aren't ready. However, our personal plans work much better than CMAPP. Yet, we rely on CMAPP to *meet* the requirements. Reading through a lesson from someone else causes some cognitive dissonance.
