         <description><![CDATA[<div>Technology can be used in:<br>Devices such as <strong>isolation systems and dampers</strong>, which are designed to reduce the vibrations (and as a consequence the damage) of structures induced by earthquakes, are successfully employed in the design of new buildings.<br>Land-based sensors, including <strong>radar sensors</strong>, collect similar data along the coastline. This system, called the Web-enabled Awareness Research Network, can help save lives and limit the impacts of natural disasters.<br><strong>AI-based algorithms</strong> can be used in predictive analytics to help forecast disasters and hasten recovery and response times. AI-powered image recognition can enable the identification of damaged buildings and roads, flooding, etc. It can also generate heat maps by integrating different streams of data.</div>]]></description>
