Politically part of Colombia,[1] and historically tied to the United Kingdom, San Andrés and the nearby islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina form the department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina.[2][3] San Andrés, in the southern group of islands, is the largest of the department. The official languages of the department are Spanish, English, and San Andrés–Providencia Creole.

                                                  The petra 
Petra is an archaeological and historical city in the Maan governorate in the south of the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan it is famous for its rock _ carved architecture and ancient aqueduct system. It was called "sila" in the past, and it was called"The pink city" because of the colours of its twisted rocks Petra was founded approximately in 312 BC as the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom, and it assumed a prominent position for many years, as its location on the Silk Road, and the intermediate civilizations of the countries between the two rivers, Palestine and Egypt, made a large state that made the Nabataeans hold the reins of trade between the civilizations of these regions and their inhabitants.  The city is located on the slopes of Mount Madbah, between a group of steep rocky mountains that form the northwestern flank of the Arabian Peninsula, specifically Wadi Araba, which extends from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. The site of Petra remained undiscovered to the West throughout the Ottoman period, until it was rediscovered by the Swiss orientalist Johann  Ludwig Berckhardt in 1812.  The city of Petra was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.
