         <description><![CDATA[<div>I spoke with Katherine Jamieson, an instructional coach at Wimberley ISD about current legal and ethical issues impacting her role as a secondary instructional coach.&nbsp;<br><br>1. Student bodies across America are full of diverse learners who need unique instruction to ensure success. As an instructional coach, it is imperative that educators are equipped with tools to successfully provide students with a fair opportunity at learning.<br><br>2. Another aspect of diverse learners includes diverse ethnicities. A curriculum must be designed with the inclusion of many cultural views.<br><br>3. State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness is designed to assess the general knowledge of students in relation to the grade level standards. Educators often loose sight of certain curriculum goals and teach students just to pass the tests.<br><br>4. Curriculum design and modifications form around student data. However, when analyzing student data, privacy is often at risk.<br><br>5. 21st century curriculum strives for the incorporation of various technology to ensure students are workforce ready upon graduation. Numerous schools across the nation include STEM based curriculum before and after school. <br><br>The NEA is helping pave the way for a more unified STEM curriculum across the nation by providing a foundation for resources and educator professional development.</div>]]></description>

Through differentiated instruction, educators   use various instructional strategies to meet the different interests, learning styles, and skills of all students. <br>The ASCD has two infographics which compares what differentiated instruction is and is not. When analyzing differentiation, it is evident that the aspects of focus as outlined on the ASCD website go hand in hand with the ESSA act, put into action by the Obama administration. </div>]]></description>

         <title>What I learned about STEM and the inclusion of Minorities.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout my research, I found that STEM is a significantly trendy topic within the curriculum and instruction field. Although the STEM acronym has been around for quite some while, our society has a high demand for highly qualified workers with strong 21st century skills. Graduates need to contain a rich set of skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to meet the demand of employment vacancies. With a predominantly Caucasian male career field, the limitations continue to rise.<br>Overall, the sources referenced here and additional ones reviewed show that there are numerous legal issues in attempt to increase the minority inclusion. Groups such as the STEM Coalition work hard to lobby for the inclusion of minorities in STEM groups. Even through the expansion of the STEM acronym by including arts to increase the desire. Furthermore, many schools are providing numerous initiatives to ensure that all students, as outlined in the ESSA act developed by the Obama administration, are provided and equal opportunity.&nbsp;<br>Lastly, this issue of including and inreasing the number of minortities in STEM is imperative to curriculum and instruction professionals because without a curriculum that is culturally aware of the former exclusion, no modifications can be made. Additionally, due to the continual development of acts, it is becoming a legal requirement to include and provide every opportunity for all to receive STEM in their education.</div>]]></description>
