Before coming to UCA, I taught math, science, and robotics for 17 years at the high school level.  I primarily work with the STEMteach program, but I also work with STEM outreach where I support elementary and middle school classrooms.

I especially like teaching Models because it opens up your creativity in how you deliver your content in ways you might not have considered before.

I am working towards becoming a secondary ELA teacher. If all goes as planned, I should be graduating this spring, and I hope to get a teaching position close to home next school year.

I am looking forward to this class. I am working right now in Pre-K and then jumping up to 7-8 grade in August. 

My goal is to be a math and/or english teacher in middle school. The middle school age is so important to me because they are learning more about how they fit into the world and desperately need an adult to be their rock during that time. 

My BA is in Media Communication - I love reading, writing, design and photography. I am currently working on my Professional Development to get my Provisional License for Social Studies and ELA. I have passed the Social Studies Praxis and am anxiously awaiting the results of the ELA Praxis. Fingers crossed.
My husband just retired from the military and we moved back home to Arkansas where we are both working on getting licensed to teach. I'm a mover and carpet cleaner with the Bryant School District, but I'm hoping to make the big jump into high school teaching...someday I hope. 

Anyway, most of my experience is in newspaper reporting and copy writing. Fell in love with teaching when I taught news writing at the college level years back. Sure was fun! I am ready to get back into the swing of things this summer with all of you! It has been such a great summer so far and can not wait to see what else is in store. 
This is my second semester in the MAT program and I am really enjoying it. I graduated from UCA in December with my undergrad in FACS. I am now certified in FACS, PE, and health. I am hoping to teach any of those subjects and coach volleyball as I just finished my college beach volleyball career at UCA. I was born and raised in Conway and hope to stay around the central Arkansas area but am open to new adventures.
