Grey​ ​wolves​ ​are​ ​astonishing​ ​creatures.​ ​​ ​The 

scientific​ ​name​ ​is​ ​the​ ​Canis​ ​Lupis.​ ​​ ​They​ ​are 

considered​ ​mammals,​ ​because​ ​they​ ​breathe​ ​air​ ​and 

give​ ​birth​ ​to​ ​live​ ​offspring.​ ​​ ​Grey​ ​wolves​ ​can​ ​live​ ​up​ ​to 

6​ ​years.​ ​​ ​Surprisingly​ ​they​ ​don't​ ​actually​ ​howl​ ​at​ ​the 

moon.​ ​​ ​They​ ​do​ ​that​ ​for​ ​long​ ​distance​ ​communication. 

 

Grey​ ​wolves​ ​live​ ​in​ ​cold​ ​areas​ ​and​ ​woods.​ ​​ ​This​ ​can 

be​ ​in​ ​woodlands,​ ​forests,​ ​and​ ​tundras.​ ​​ ​Wolves​ ​are 

considered​ ​carnivores​ ​because​ ​they​ ​eat​ ​deer, 

mountain​ ​goats,​ ​moose,​ ​elk,​ ​and​ ​bison.​ ​​ ​​ ​P.S​ ​they​ ​eat​ ​2 

½​ ​lbs​ ​of​ ​food​ ​a​ ​day. 

 

These​ ​animals​ ​have​ ​many​ ​adaptations​ ​to​ ​help​ ​them 

survive.​ ​​ ​One​ ​of​ ​their​ ​adaptations​ ​involve​ ​the​ ​feet. 

They​ ​help​ ​them​ ​in​ ​long​ ​distance​ ​traveling.​ ​​ ​Also​ ​their 

feet​ ​help​ ​them​ ​grip​ ​onto​ ​slippery​ ​surfaces.​ ​​ ​​ ​Another 

adaptation​ ​it​ ​has​ ​is​ ​it’s​ ​jaw​ ​that​ ​have​ ​​ ​up​ ​to​ ​500​ ​lbs​ ​of 

jaw​ ​strength​ ​that​ ​can​ ​pierce​ ​through​ ​flesh​ ​and​ ​break 

bones.​ ​​ ​Lastly​ ​their​ ​nose​ ​is​ ​up​ ​to​ ​100x​ ​stronger​ ​than​ ​a 

human.​ ​​ ​Also​ ​their​ ​ears​ ​have​ ​20x​ ​better​ ​hearing​ ​than 

a​ ​human.​ ​​ ​That​ ​is​ ​why​ ​grey​ ​wolves​ ​are​ ​amazing 

​ ​​ ​`  

creatures​ ​that​ ​have​ ​many​ ​fascinating​ ​looks​ ​and 

adaptations.
