·       Citing & Organizing Sources (Groups 9 and 10)
  1. Please unmute your microphone and introduce yourself, program, and level of experience being a TA. 
  2. Assign roles of timekeeper, note-taker, and reporter (share answer back with the group).
  3. Review the undergraduate research assignment example and think about what students might find challenging in relation to the library research skill assigned to your breakout room group. What questions do you think undergrads would have about this assignment, and how would you answer those questions?
  4. Write a post for each undergrad question, including your response, under your assigned column. Try to share at least two ideas (two posts).
  5. Be ready to report on 1 idea with the larger group.

  • Reference lists must be in APA format

(Answer: summarize and critically examine things you read in journals in your own words, and compare the different sources you find for commonalities and themes that corroborate each other)

How do we know whether a source is peer reviewed?
(Answer: include the criterion 'peer reviewed' in your search criterion/filters, or use Ulrich!)

How do we cite in APA?
(Answer: review the APA manual, available at UofT libraries or online in general, can make use of citation machine tools but be wary of the formatting)
