Mutualism is where two different species relationship benefit each other. They both get something good out of it. In this picture, there is a bird picking meat out of the alligators teeth. They both benefit from this because the crocodiles teeth get cleaned, where he's much more comfortable, and the bird is getting free, easy reach food.

Commensalism is an interaction between two species where it benefits one, but neither benefits or harms the other. An example of commensalism is the emperor shrimp and the sea cucumber. The emperor shrimp uses the sea cucumber by hitching a ride on it. These shrimps also get protection as well as a mode of transportation to move about in larger areas in search of food, without spending any energy of their own. The sea cucumber however, receives no harm or benefits in return.
