My whole life has almost always revolved around music. I started off learning the piano when i was 9 for around 5-6 years, despite not enjoying it much. However, i was finally able to start learning what i actually enjoyed; playing the guitar. I started playing the guitar only about 2 years ago. I only took a few lessons on yousician before teaching myself the rest.

I did try making my own songs quite a few times, but i never really liked how they turned out.

I have quite a few favourite bands, but my top 3 would definitely be Slipknot, Psychonaut 4 and Radiohead.

My favourite songs at the moment are 'Tower of memories' by ivri, 'let down' by Radiohead and 'Swordsman' by Kekht Arakh. The main reason i like these songs is because of how the rhythm is and the overall vibe.

I've been to 2 concerts so far in the past 2 years and i have an upcoming concert that i will be attending in October. I really want to get to see Slipknot and Korn since i missed out on their last concerts.

I really want to be able to just preform on a stage in the future, i've always really enjoyed it, even at small performances in high school. Playing in a band, being able to tour, even if it is just nationally, would make me feel like i've actually accomplished something. I think continuing my courses in college and potentially going even further in university, as well as playing even more in bands would really help me achieve this.

The guitar was evolved from the first stringed instrument, the vihuela, which was first found in Spain in the 15th century. Antonio de Torres Jurado, a guitar maker from the 18th century, created the now modern version of the guitar which helped it gain more popularity to play. The guitar is played in most genres, such as pop, rock, metal and jazz. Kirk Hammett is one of the most famous guitarists in the world. He's one of the guitarists in Metallica. https://youtu.be/tAGnKpE4NCI?si=0Eu1gPpmW8oNbk7k

I honestly didn't know much about the guitar before researching so i thought it was made more recently

Last week we got put into bands. Me and the other people in my band chose to preform the song back to black by Amy Winehouse. I was chosen to play the bass since i played that and the guitar, although, i do play the guitar more than i play the bass. We got a few hours of practise that day and a small rehearsal on the day of the performance. I think we did pretty good during the actual performance. I think maybe if we had more practise time we would've done even better.

I mainly like the rhythm and melody of both of the songs, in 'Crossed a line' and 'Coming down' i really like how the drums and guitar sounded. The bpm in 'Crossed a line' is 135, and bpm of 'coming down' is 162. The tempo of both songs are rather consistent throughout the whole song. There were various different instruments throughout the songs, such as bass, guitar, drums and vocals. The lyrics don't really have a specific meaning to me, i just like the general vibe of both of the songs.

Performer

The key responsibilities for a preformer is: teamwork, practicing, rehearsing, finding gig locations and travelling. These are important responsibilities because, if you don't work with your band, you could potentially cause the band to fall apart. Practicing yourself and then rehearsing with your band is also very important in order to have great performances even if it is just for a small gig, like a class or school performance. Being able to find good locations on time can affect your bands time slots to perform too. If you find locations late, you might not get much time to perform, or even get to in general. Being able to travel can also affect your gigs as well. If you are unable to travel for gigs for some reason, whether it be because of financial issues or distance, it might ruin the chances of your band performing at all, so it's best to communicate your personal needs when it comes to traveling for gigs with your bandmates. This can make it so that everyone can be accommodated with their needs.

After being put into actual bands, me and my group were quick to discuss what exactly we wanted to do and planned out songs we could preform. I think a really good quality we all had was that we were all able to learn new songs really quickly and preform them with minimal mistakes. During this time i tried to achieve being able to extend my range in playing, whether by different genres or different difficulties. I think i did really well in this because i learnt many new songs that i didn't particularly listen to or like the genre of and i was able to play them really well. (still in progress...)

Stage managers are key people in performing arts. This is because they handle the majority of performer's performances. They organise rehearsals and schedules for the performers. They also make sure the run-throughs of rehearsals and performances are gone through smoothly. Communication between other departments are also done by the stage managers. The skills needed for this role are organisation skills - to be calm under pressure and communication - to be able to solve problems/ issues.
