         <description><![CDATA[<div>Google is the #1 search engine, but did you know it also has an extensive news repository?  A searchable archive of newspapers from around the world, dating all the way back to the 1700s, you can easily search topics or specific time periods to provide students primary sources. Ex. use...Divide US History class into 1/2 North vs. 1/2 South groups. Students search an archived newspaper from the North about the Civil Rights Movement, and the South group read the Southern perspective by the contemporary news reporters (visa-versa). Google News Archive allows access to first-hand accounts to analyze and create their own perceptions of events during a particular time. </div>]]></description>
