My group and I visited the library (Barnes & Noble) and observed some things. First off, we went to the school supplies section to view the prices. We realized that every single item was over 2 or 3 dollars. Although there were singular items like an eraser or just a simple pen, it was all over $2. In order to frame what was accurate, we started researching online and comparing these items to the same ones in another store. The same brand and pack of “Bic” pens at Staples was not even priced as a full dollar. Thinking about who lives on this campus and the circumstances for some individuals, we came to the conclusion that these supplies were not affordable. They didn’t seem affordable due to the fact that students could order the same supplies for a significantly cheaper price online or in a store close by. Secondly, we examined the books in the library, starting small with picture or comic books. These books, although they could’ve only been a few pages long, they were all priced over $15.

Although they try to make it seem affordable, the same items are a couple dollars cheaper on staples or amazon. People also don't realize the tax you are paying on top of the couple dollars your item is.
