The strength an wisdom this four legged being holds is the same that I must have within myself in persevering through healing my traumas. The buffalo is  a sacred animal which walks through the storms head on. They set examples for myself to persevere through my storms of growth so that I may come out of the storm with more wisdom, knowledge, compassion an faith. To trust my footsteps when my seed is cracking and growing within me of that shell I’ve neglected to water an love.

I like my own poems best. 
I quote from them from time to time saying, “A poet once said,”and then follow up with a line or two from one of my own poems appropriate to the event. 
How those lines sing!
All that wisdom and beauty!
Why it tickles my ass off its spine.

“Why those lines are mine!”I say and Jesus, what a bang I get out of it.
I like the ideas in them,my poems,ideas that hit home.
They speak to me.
I mean, I understand what the hell the damn poet’s talking about.
“Why I’ve been there,the same thing,” I shout,and Christ! 
What a shot it is,a shot.

And hey,The words!Whew!
I can hardly stand it.
Words sure do not fail this guy, I say.
From some world only he knows he bangs the bong, but I can feel it in the wood,in the wood of the word,rising to its form in the world.
“Now, you gotta be good to do that!” 
I say and damn!

I think about a system of interconnected roots supporting each other beneath the concrete. I wonder if someone planted seeds in the cracks or whether life just finds a way to squeeze through the narrowest of places. It’s beautiful either way. These flowers are my neighborhood,  a community of immigrants who have endured the harshest environments yet thrived through it all, a beautiful hue of color reaching for the sky on a corner that would normally go unnoticed. These flowers are me too. The me that sometimes catches people by surprise, the me who grew up amongst concrete yet gravitates towards beauty. These flowers are my grandparents who transformed their circumstances and gave life to many more blossoms, each generation stronger than the last. My emotions have been on high like the eye in the sky of an eagle watching for what may move. The word pandemic is a mental state of fear a loss of control for power of ones thoughts controlled. Taking notes an writing each moment  so I don’t forget someone’s story cause we all matter. Staying spiritually grounded every day continuously cleansing off a story I may have attached to my body. The love and compassion for our community is like me standing by the ocean sometimes the waves come crashing in and soak my entire being; when all the while I’m standing there trying to keep myself from drowning. Then the waves settle and it’s like waiting for the next big wave and taking time to breathe and to pray. Remembering I’m here to be a servant of Creator as I can lend my extra hand or foot to help my brothers or sisters in their guidance of the word Pandemic.
