I found it interesting to learn about these things to do with PREVENT as I do not actually know that much about about PREVENT and terrorism, extremism and radicalization. It was interesting to find out about left wing and right wing as I didn't know what they were.

I thought that the video was very informative, however it was hard at times to write down how I felt as I wasn't actually 100% sure. I didn't however like the video I would rather have just had a group discussion as the video was a little bit confusing to follow

I found it useful to understand the additional needs that a primary school teacher needs to be specialized in SEN. I also found it useful to know the different skills and qualities that a teacher with a specialism in SEN needs

Financial harm

It was good to learn about financial harm as some financial harm is so hard to recognise that you just wouldn't know until it's been done. It's also good to learn about it now so I am not naive to it when I get a job

I think this session was more to find out what we wanted to learn but to also give us the understanding that it is okay to reach out for help when it comes to sexual health. It also shown the importance of not relying on social media and actually using google and other search engines because they are more likely to give us those answer that we NEED and not just the answers that we WANT to hear

Health and Safety

I enjoyed reading all about this as I believe that it is rather relevant to our course and also it is good to learn about the health and safety rules and regulations that are in place so we can use them and know of them for our placements. I also find it interesting to learn how these laws were made and why they were made in the first place

Drugs and substances

I learnt a lot about drugs and how they can affect your health in many different ways. I also learnt about the different ways that people can be fined or sentenced for different substances and drugs. I also learnt about the BDP which helps children and young people when in need due to drugs misuse or substance misuse or due to family drugs or substance problems

Career pathways

I think that this session was good to look at the different ways in which we can go (e.g. uni, apprenticeship etc), it was also good to map it out and look at it that way

World religion day

It was good to learn about different religions and the major religions and how many people are in each religion. It is also nice to learn about how SGS an promote it and what we can do at SGS to help acknowledge it

The bystander effect

I learnt a lot today. I learnt how being a bystander and not intervening when you believe you should can affect the people that may be involved. I also learnt about situations that have involved being a bystander and how badly that has affected some people

Colleges week

While going through this weeks group tutorial, I learnt the skills that you need for employment and how skills can help many different things in your life. I learnt that having certain skills can open doors for opportunities that you might not have thought you’d have without the skills. I also learnt that a growth mindset is very useful and means you believing in yourself with things you wouldn’t usually believe in yourself for and how having a growth mindset is so much better than a fixed mindset, which is having a mindset of not being able to do anything. Overall this was quite useful as it helps me understand the skills and abilities I may need for certain jobs and how I should go about life with a growth mindset if I wish to achieve big things

International women’s day

I think it was good to read the slides about international women’s dat to see the progress women’s have made over the years. It is also nice to see the benefits of gender equality. It however is still sad to see the challenges still faced by women in the world

Taxes

I think this session was good to do. It was good to work out what my taxes would be and what income i would take home after all my taxes are done. It was interesting to see what starting salaries would be for a primary school teacher and to see how much pay is made overall

Staying safe in the online world

I think that this session was so good to learn about. It is so hard at times to differentiate between what is AI generated and what isn’t so to see what things AI misses out sometimes is really helpful. It is also so good to know because being a young person with so much more to happen in life AI is just going to grow bigger and bigger, so to understand and learn about it now is so useful. It is also useful to understand the several harms AI can cause, especially with wanting to become a primary school teacher. Overall this was a really good session to do, especially being a young person with years ahead where AI is only going to continue growing, it is so useful to learn about it now so i know where to learn and grow with it in the future

Fast fashion

I learnt all about fast fashion and how the company and the buyers can be at fault for them running. I also learnt how fast fashion is doing a lot of harm to the environment, due to landfill and pollution.
