New Project: Reducing Equity Gaps for LatinX/Hispanic Identifying Students

After further data review, we decided to move our project toward something with more measurable impacts. Looking at tutoring data, we notice that Latinx/Hispanic identifying students make up the majority of students we serve. However, the outcomes for these students are much lower than the next two highest served populations.

Our project will focus on reducing this gap.

The data guides the decision making as it will show us where we're underperforming. It will also allow us to see trends so we can better identify connections to programing changes and/or external influences. Qualitative data will help us identify better ways of addressing students needs here in the center.

Collaborations

As an HSI institution, there are many collaborations that we believe will be helpful in this effort. Internally, we'll be working with CTTL to improve our media and digital offerings. Externally, we'll be learning from various programs in the SESP division, tapping into the leadership of the Puente community, as well as the other academic divisions to better connect students to our services.
