• Our kitchen with step-free access is based in The Park Centre – there is an Accessible Toilet on site

👩‍🍳 What will we be doing?

• Preparing and cooking tasty food, growing in the garden, crafts and games.

🍕 Free of charge to attend!

• We will be sitting down to enjoy the food you have created – there will be breakfast foods, snacks and drinks available throughout the day.

✅ Checks and training!

• Our Cookery Teachers and volunteers are fully DBS checked and trained in safeguarding (recently refreshed June 2026).

Shape My City is a FREE talent accelerator bringing together young people from across Bristol and the South West to learn about cities, design, and placemaking — over one year, with a brilliant cohort of peers from all walks of life. 

📅 October 2026 – July 2027 

📍 First Wednesday of every month, 5–7pm 

💷 FREE to join — plus £5 provided on the night for travel and food 

Over 10 monthly modules you'll: 

✅ Explore careers in city design and the built environment 

✅ Build teamwork, confidence and communication skills 

✅ Develop your voice and opinions about the places you live in 

✅ Meet people from diverse backgrounds across the city 

✅ Use your knowledge to genuinely help shape your city 

The programme is fully funded by South West businesses — so there's no cost to you. We just ask that you commit to the full year and take care with your application, as places are competitive.

Virgin Media O2 are offering a limited number of spaces on a virtual work experience programme in July 2026.

The programme was so well received and completed by lots of students during summer 2025.

Virtual Work Experience (VWEX) programme

We are delighted to announce that the Renishaw VWEX programme is now live and freely available to all pupils over the age of 13 via the TalentXP online platform.

What will you learn?

This programme is designed to give you a bite-size introduction to what it’s like to work in a global engineering company.

You’ll learn who Renishaw is, what we do, and how engineering plays a part in creating real‑world technology that you experience every day.

The students were phenomenal - overcoming their nerves to take on the challenge of the interview - something many adults find scary!

We were supported by over 40 volunteers from local businesses, who gave up their time to speak to our students.

Feedback was great, with one volunteer saying it was 'one of the best mock interview sessions I've ever had'
