Later in the story he had gotten bullied by harry and his group and lily was there to help. he had lied about the truth making lily getting in more trouble, making them not friends anymore.

In the beginning of the read aloud, The tree speaks a somewhat fairytale about a king apparently killing a bride. He goes back to school with lily trying to be friends again. Conor has a grudge against her because he cant forgive for what she did, sticking up for him. He didn't want that.

The monster is going to help him by telling him stories that are simalar to Conors actions. I think this because him comparing stories to him will make him realize what he is doing is causing stress for him. Conor is slowly having to apporach his story that he has to tell.

I think that the grandma broke the last thing in the house because something at the hospital made her mad. I think that it has something to do with the dad and how he acted in front of conor. I also think it has something to do with the mother, Maybe she died or she is getting to her final stages of life.

Every time a story is told to Conor, It always relates to him in some way. With the Third tale, The monster was able to take control and help conor be noticed by people, but not in a good way. With the second story with the tree originally taking down the house in the second story, Conor wanted to feel the same way and did it with all of his might and took it down. in the first story with the prince killing the farmers daughter, I dont know how this would relate, Conor didn't kill anyone, Maybe he wanted to blame someone for power of his own.

As harry tells Conor that he'll be left alone forever, the monster shows up telling the third story and taking control over his body. This forces conor to go up to harry and face him 1 on 1. Conor tells harry to notice him and as harry denies to, the monster takes over even more and grows conors strength into beating harry into the ground. this sends harry to the hospital yet still no punishment for conor that he's been wanting, yet got the attention he wanted.

I Imagined the story a lot more differently. In the text I expected the mother to be bald since she had cancer, but she had hair on top of her hair. I was also expecting for conor not to be so adventurous because he didn't explore much of the house in the story. I also imagined the monster to be different, I thought he wouldn't be as tall as he would be. Also we didn't know the nightmare till the end of the book, but in the film, the dream showed us what he was fearing.

I would revise the Mom because she rarely talked with Conor at all between the book and the film. When Conor explained to the mom that he'd be seeing a monster at night that looked like a tree, she wouldn't believe him in anyway. I thought she should have and let them try to focus out their problems together. It felt like when the mother got more sick the more distant Conor became to his mother, but some of his parental figures were stopping him from trying to help the mother so much. Even though mother needed the rest conor should have been at her side for most of the time to support her when times are going dark.
