After the "washout" NYC gets sunken and a new virus called HNBC breaks out. Ren's sister has the HNBC and needs to be saved. The Governor of the the United Metro Islets, Governor Voss acts nice. However, Voss has an evil plan to wipe out the disease... by wiping out the people. Ren and other people, however find out and attempt to stop it by all means. Voss however uses his evil ideas to stop them. The book does end in a cliffhanger. Luckily,  there is a new book in the series called The Isle. Would rate 4.5 ****1/2*

Hideki:
Hideki is an Okinawan boy. Okinawa is part of Japan, but wasn't always (It was conquered around the 1600s). The story is set during the battle of Okinawa, a World War II battle between Japan and the USA. At school Hideki and his fellow pupils are handed 2 Grenades. The first one is to kill an "American devil who wants to kill all Japanese". The other is to commit suicide afterward as a form of preserving his honor. Will Hideki fight for Japan or will he defect to the USA side?

Ray:
Ray is a new Marine. He's headed to his first battle, which is the Battle of Okinawa. Ray is nervous however arrives at Okinawa just fine. Ray suddenly kills a Japanese sniper and feels sick. He then starts getting used to seeing people kill each other. He collects photos that deceased people had of family etc to protect their "Mabui" an Okinawan tradition of protecting the spirit. Ray then meets Hideki and both sides open fire. Who will die?

Hyeonseo Lee was born in Hyesan, North Korea. At 17 she escaped to China and lived their with a fake identity. She was fortunately able to smuggle her family to China and head to South Korea. It's a very nice book and her story is very powerful. 5***** book great read!
