I'm pretty concerned about making the promotional video has I don't know how to make it look like a film and not just a something I recorded on a phone. I'm also worried about keeping up to date with the journal but I guess falls inline with following the schedule I have given myself. I wasn't excited about starting this class originally but now that I know more about what I'll be doing Im not has uninterested as I was

I want the video to inspire them but also tell the viewer that they will need my product or my product will give them the best chance at achieving their goal. this can be achieved by using famous players/well-known people and/or having the audience imagine themselves as the player hitting the game-winning shot, using their dream to convince them to buy the product

Possible Perspectives include SneakerHeads, High fashion, Environmentally friendly, Community-driven.

I will get the audience's attention by showing what they want and getting them to imagine themselves in the SHOES of their favourite player and them hitting the game-winning shot.

Showing them their favourite players, team or even getting them to imagine themselves like their idols and that will get their attention and they will want to know how they can be more like their favourite player.

showing "them" hitting the final shot or making a great play can also inspire them and make them desire my product, they will want to reach their potential and be like their favourite player. An example of this is in an article in Sociology of Sport Journal where they say "Spike Lee and Michael Jordan, two icons of Black American culture, also were a key part of the attraction"(Wilson & Sparks 1996). this is talking about how the "Its Gotta Be the Shoes' commercial resonated with youths. Having a famous player or person/s can help persuade the demographic.

Showing them or their favourite player in the shoes will have them associate the shoe these feelings.
Using a tag line can help resonate with audiences especially with early teens. for example "Just do it" by Nike or "It's gotta be the shoes" can become the new catchphrase at Schools or local Ball Parks.

Having the audience imagine themselves achieving something or seeing their idols achieving something can help to encourage them to go out and do it. take for example the first Nike "Just do it" commercial. it features a known American athlete, Walt Stack in his 80s still running 17 miles each morning. "If an 80- year-old former athlete could still do it, it implied, it was merely a matter of just doing it, and with that, the idea that any younger, reasonably fit person, could do it" (Wells 2019, p. 179).

Having a cultural connection with my product could make my product stand out. by having a slogan such as "Just do it" for example Goldman and Papson said regarding Nike's "Just do it" slogan "is cemented in consumers' minds as a rallying cry to get off the couch and play sports." More than just a slogan, "Just do it" receives almost daily mass media interpretation and affirmation" (1998, p 19).

I changed many things from the original concept of my Promotional Video. The biggest was removing the use of known figures to engage the audience, followed by the idea of the viewer hitting the game-winning shot and the colour scheme. The reason I changed the use of a famous athlete (e.g. LeBron James) was that without actually using these people and with the resources I have felt that I couldn't achieve that without making it laughable and that really wouldn't resonate with my age demographic, and will most likely have them not want to buy my product. I also changed the idea of the game-winning shot to avoid it being laughable and the colour scheme along with it as it wouldn't fit with the new changes. I decided to go for a tone that does not take itself seriously rather than one that does.
