There is an another desert called the Gobi Desert which is located in the Inner-Mongolian region in China. 

Pros of desert - There is more sunlight. Usually when there's a lot of sunlight, the weather is sunny and the temperature is warm. Sunlight is better for humans that living in the dark.

Cons of desert - Some desert has a lot of sands which means that during windy days, it can form a huge sandstorm. Sandstorm affects the air quality, which makes some people have a serious health issues. 

Water is very rare in deserts (I'm not saying that all deserts doesn't have water, some desert have waters)

A lot of plants and food doesn't really grow in deserts. (I'm not saying that all deserts doesn't have plants, some desert have grass and cactus).

Cons - Some mountains if mountains are high and it has snows and glacier on it, it can sometimes form an avalanche which can kill humans who are hiking. Hiking on a very steep high mountain is very difficult.
