While I was not able to attend the lab, opportunities like this are very important. Even the best engineers need to practice being creative. We cannot learn, or improve, by doing the same thing over and over. To make a difference, you have to experiment, and be creative.

I had a good time at the re-discover center. I learned about how to use tools at the lab. This is important because at school we can't do this. I learned how to use a handsaw and a drill. I used these tools to create a box. Then I made the box look like something else. This was important because engineers need to be creative. I also made an integrity structure. I had a good time at the re-discover center and did things I couldn't have done at school.

My experience at the reDiscover Lab was incredible. I learned the importance of clamps as they have amazing strength and that we could not make anything without them. I also learned that it takes a lot of work to make the smallest things because making a simple box requires a lot of steps. Another thing I learned is that we do not need machines to do everything because we can do a lot with our own hands. We managed to make our boxes with hand-powered saws and they turned out great. Also, we learned that many things are harder than they seem. When you drill in a screw, you have to make sure it doesn't go too deep in the material and must be an exact length. Plus, when making a box, each piece of wood must be a specific length or the box could be ruined. Many important lessons about engineering were learned at the reDiscover Lab.

My experience at the reDiscover Lab helped me learn different creative ways to use materials. The instructors showed us how to use power tools to make simple items such as cubes and prisms. We took what we learned and used it to make larger boxes. Learning to use power tools is useful for working on larger projects in the future. One of the problems with the boxes was that they had no lid. I had to experiment with different ideas before eventually deciding on my final idea. I know that when you're being creative, there is a lot of trial and error required to make a final product. When decorating my box, I had to find a way to make it functional, as well as visually appealing. I repurposed many items in order to make my box appear how I wanted it to. Recycled items are important because they eliminate some waste that may be caused by single-use materials. The reDiscover Lab helped me learn about different ways to be creative and the endless possibilities when it comes to creating things.

The limitless potential creativity is a very important step in engineering. First of all, the rediscover center used items that were about to be recycled. I think it is important and amazing to create something new out of something that is old and wasn't planned on being used. Secondly, they taught us how to use tools in engineering. This is important and can help us create structures out of wood and other materials. Finally, we learned how to make tensegrity structures. These weird shapes in engineering have been created to absorb impact, and they are pretty strong overall. After all, I had a good time at the reDiscover center.

At the reDiscover Lab, I was able to learn how to use a few handheld tools such as a drill and a handsaw. From learning how to use these tools, I can make objects of a bigger and better scale. From the field trip, I also learned that a basic structure such as a box can be the base for many possibilities. From the box that we were instructed to make, there were many outcomes of the project. For example, most people used their box and made it a keepsake box. But none of the boxes were alike. Some had decor such as ducks while others were colored with colors that represent the engineer. The field trip opened new opportunities that could be accomplished with the knowledge I now have of how to use tools of any kind. From the box I made, I decided to make a bag and that helped me figure out that I have a love for the process of fashion and the pieces that come from it when it comes to picking the fabric, and choosing the style of the bag. Overall, the reDiscover Lab showed me all kinds of new opportunities that could be possible from learning how to use power tools.

The experience at the reDiscover Lab was really surreal. I learned so much about working to create something and learning to use tools. When we created the box out of wood from scratch, I learned how to create a box, and how to reuse things for a purpose that could in some way benefit myself. After I finished my hard work, it was extremely rewarding, knowing that I created something all by myself without assistance from my parents or staff. When creating the tensegrity structure, it taught me how to deal with failure, and what I could change about the process in which I made it. I first tried to create the I first, but I kept failing. So I then resorted to creating the structure a different way which ended up working. Overall, the trip taught me so much, and I think that it was really worth the time spent. I will truly always remember that moment and will cherish this memory until the day I die.

At the reDiscover Lab, I learned how to use many different tools, including the chop saw. It is really important to know how to use these tools because, later in life, you could encounter a situation where it would come in handy. For example, you could want to build a treehouse in your backyard, but if you don't know how to use a screwdriver, building it would become much more difficult. It would also take longer. There, we also built structures from boxes and other materials like fabric. Doing fun things like this helps to expand your creativity. Creativity is necessary to have for many occupations, such as engineers or artists.

In the reDiscover Lab, I learned that things that we think are just waste or normal material can be transformed into very useful stuff! For example, I used wood planks and wood blocks to make a storage box that can slide to open. At first, you would think that the wood planks or the wood blocks are just sitting there doing nothing to help. However, when you think creatively, you can transform that into useful stuff. I learned how to use things like handsaws, drills, and nails. I learned many things that made me think creatively. I also decorated the storage box with many materials in the center like cloth. I learned countless creative things at the reDiscover Lab!

I learned that to become an engineer, it takes a lot of trial and error, time, and especially patience. I was able to learn this through the tensegrity structures. I kept failing to make it because I did not realize what errors I was making, and was in a rush to get it done. However, after a while I understood that something was wrong with how I built it. Then, it took me a lot of time and patience to fix my mistakes. Using the tools like handsaws was also a very fun experience. This is because I learned that there were many different techniques to use it. I was able to adapt the straight down style of cutting where you start from the edge, as I found it easier. The best part was probably when I finished cutting the pieces of wood and there was lots of sawdust left because it felt extremely satisfying and rewarding.

I wasnt able to attend the field trip but I think that having creative oppurtunities is important because you can get a chance to learn something new. It also gives you a chance to create cool projects that have objects that you may not have access to at home. You can get a chance to learn about tools used to create objects and you can also learn about different ways to brainstorm about unique projects. Another reason why its important is because you have to learn skils in life to lead a good life up ahead. You can learn skills that may connect to modern day life to help you with problems hard to solve. Learning these skills simple or unsimple could also help in getting you a job. There are many jobs around the world that require you to have these skills so you can help around. Finally, I think that having these oppurtunities are just very fun and thrilling in general. Being able to expierience these activities of the world can add extra thrill to your life making ordinary days more exiting. That is why I think creative oppurtunities are important in life.

Going to the rediscover center helped me understand tools more. Clamps were the first thing I learned and they were very important because they hold things in place. We then learned about drills and saws which take a lot of caution to use. Then we got to build our own box and make it into anything. This was challenging because it used all that we learned and made us brainstorm ideas on how to add to the box. The final project was building a tensegrity structure out of rubber bands, tape, and coffee sticks. These structures were almost unbreakable so much so that NASA is planning on using them for space exploration. In summary I learned a lot about using power tools and I got to create a lot of interesting projects. The things I learned and the fun I had there will always be a memory that I will never forget.

My experience at the reDiscover Center was great because of the new learning opportunities we had. I got to learn new things like how to use a saw safely. But, the important part was that we got to use the saw and drill to make the box, and decorate it with what we had. To make new things, you might need more or new materials. In the reDiscover Center, we got to test some of the new tools. The tensegrity structures that we made were used by NASA, and the fact that we got to make the same thing was mind-blowing. To be engineers, we need to be creative and come up with new ideas. When we made stuff in the lab, it was all recycled or reused material donated from other people. This sets our mind to create something new with old and unused material, which is a great opportunity to come up with new ideas.

reDiscover was a good leaning experience for me and taught me some new things such as how to use drills safety and also about clamps. Another thing that I leaned is about a tensegrity structure which is basically a structure that is hold together by strings connected to poles. Some other things that I leaned is that NASA is using this design to launch these structures into space, It is a circle that can not move but NASA is manipulating the strings so that the robot can move. I leaned a lot of things that I would not know about, and it was a very fun experience.

For me, the reDiscover Lab was extremely fun since I was able to learn and use power tools in order to create something out of wood. I was also able to make a tensegrity structure out of skewers and rubber bands, which was a difficult task to accomplish. I learned how to use drills, a handsaw, and clamps successfully without getting hurt. This enabled me to accomplish the task of making a box that could open with hinges. The reDiscover Lab was essential because it taught me things that I could not learn at school or at home. It also boosted my creativity since we had to make our boxes out of reusable materials like wood, paper, and fabric. For example, I wanted my box to open up so I had to make hinges with fabric tape and screws. I also needed to make sure that I cut the wood perfectly in order to form the correct shapes I needed. The reDiscover Lab was also important because it taught me things that I can use throughout my life. Overall, I had an amazing experience at the reDiscover Lab.

At the reDiscover Lab, I got the ability to use power tools such as a hand saw and a drill and use that skill plus my creativity to construct a box and design it however I like. This was my favorite project that we did because we didn't have to follow a given design, we got to try out new designs that we liked out of so many different materials. I think being able to do this was important because being able to have creativity leads to the finding of new ideas, and learning things we didn't know before. If engineers didn't have any creativity doing their jobs, it would be much harder to create new inventions and fix problems.

I especially enjoyed the reDiscover lab because we got to have the chance to experience things that we couldn't do in class or almost anywhere else. They taught me to use my creativity to turn a simple box into anything I desired. There were endless designs and materials that made creating this almost challenging. I had so many different ideas in my head that it was hard to choose just one. This showed just how far your creativity can take you.

Creativity is an important skill that is necessary in your everyday life and it is important to practice it, just like how we got to use it at the Rediscover Center.

Even though I hadn't been able to attend the trip, it's still very important because engineering is about being creative. If the world didn't have creativity we would never be able to have new things therefore nothing. In engineering, you get a problem and use creativity to find a way to solve it. like if you think that there should be an automatic ice-cream scooper, you would create different parts like the handle or how the end scoops everything up. In conclusion, creativity is a mandatory part of engineering and everybody should have an opportunity to be creative.

During our visit to the center, I enjoyed many things. When we arrived, we learned the rules in the workplace and the people there. We even drew license plates that said our hobbies, names, and pronouns. After that, we went to the workplace. There, we learned how to use different kinds of saws, drills, and other tools. We even got to cut some wood for practice. We then moved on to the best part, making a box and decorating it to not “just a box.” We cut more wood and drilled them together to make the box. We were given lots of materials to use. As time passed, we ate lunch in front of an elementary school nearby. Lunch went by fast, we continued making the box, I made a chest with a simple contraption that allowed the chest to be opened. We were running out of time so we were allowed to take materials home. The visit was spectacular and I hope to go there again.

One of them was how to use basic tools in engineering. With those tools, I was able to create something that was unique to myself. Many other inventors use this to design machines to help during our time. The reDiscover Lab also taught me the importance of a community. The skill of getting everyone to come together and create something revolutionary has brought humans to being the most powerful species on Earth. In the end, the big picture tells us that using knowledge, creativity, and a thriving community, we can make our world.

At the reDiscover center, I re-leaned many things that I thought I already knew all about. The main power tools that I learned to use were a drill and a handsaw. For the drill, we learned how to pick the correct torque setting for what we are doing with the drill, as well as how to properly hold one to have good control. For the handsaws, it is important to cut away from any body parts for safety. Taking big strokes and using the whole blade can help to cut faster. Also for both drills and handsaws, clamps are important for many reasons for example to be safe, to cut/drill with accuracy, and to allow your hands to feel free to do other things rather than holding what you are working on. After learning about the following, we were required to build a box and decorate it to have a theme by using our creativity. After a quick lunch break, we finally learned how to make a tensegrity structure using skewers and rubber bands. The key tricks to success are to equalize the rubber band’s tension and to tape the rubber bands in place so that they don’t come off when the structure is being put under pressure. Overall, I think that the most important thing to success is to always remember that nothing with a big reward comes easy, and the only path to success is through trial and error. With the right mindset, anything is possible.

At the rediscover center, we learned to use power tools! It was very fun to be educated on how to use these tools with safety and care. After being taught about how to use power tools, the staff made us put our skills to the test by making not-a-boxes. Not-a-boxes are boxes that don't behave or seem like a box but are the dimensions of one. I searched for resources and then started my project. The resources I used were wood, screws, denim, ribbon, paper, cardboard, and marker. The tools I used were a drill, a handsaw, tape, and a clamp. I made my box into a frog!

During the reDiscover Lab field trip, I was able to learn how to use different tools like a drill or handsaw. I am glad I got the opportunity to go on this field trip because I probably wouldn't have the chance to learn how to use these tool anytime soon. After learning how to properly use these tools, we used these skills to construct a box. Once we had successfully completed this task, we started to decorate it. Everyone had different ideas and not one box was the same as another one. For example, someone decorated their box as a terrarium for different characters he had drawn. At the reDiscover Lab, we made a tensegrity sculpture. It took me many tries to create my tensegrity sculpture because it was uneven and the rubber band kept on snapping in half. I now know that you can't perfect or complete something on the first try because there are many different things that may go wrong. Overall, the reDiscover Lab field trip helped me learn many new things that will help me in future.

At the reDiscover lab, we learned many different things about how to recycle and create. we all learned how to use power tools, one skill that can help us in the real world whenever we need it. but the main reason we were there at all was to learn how to use our natural creative skills and use them to create something new. we used the new skills we had just learned and the skills that we already had and built something. we make something called "not a box". We made simple wooden boxes with hand saws and drills, then decorated them however we liked to make them look like it's not a box. There were so many accessories and fabrics to choose from. creativity was needed in the process of coming up with how to design it. another lesson we learned was that by turning random objects into something new and usable, we can have fun, express our creativity, and help the earth in the process. being creative is important because it helps you design anything, come up with unique ideas, and help others. the reDiscover lab was full of stuff people donated because they weren't going to use it. by making something new out of those materials instead of throwing them away, we can help the earth and others. without creative people, more than half of the stuff we have today wouldn't be here. It's because of those people that the world is what it is today.

My experience at the lab was a great opportunity for me to creatively learn about things that I couldn't necessarily learn at school. I learned how to safely use clamps, handsaws, and drills. I learned the importance of wearing goggles and headphones. Using the tools I created a box out of wood. Then, I transformed it into something creative. I also built a tensegrity structure. Doing that I learned that engineers also have to be patient, not only creative. This trip to the Lab was a great creative opportunity.

The ReDiscover Center taught me about power tools, and how they function. We learned important safety tips, and how they will help protect our bodies in the future. We used saws and made boxes. Later we decorated our boxes with reused materials to make not a box, lots of people made different things like a frog, and not a frog. It was a fun experience where we made creative not boxes, and we learned a lot about creativity and how we could show it in many different ways.
