He refers to being "stuck" in his head - so much so that he feels the need to "escape". The words and terms he uses ("stuck, "caught-up", "escape") all express this sense of confinement and restlessness. They give a sense of frustration and anxiousness. Since he is speaking about his own "thinking" and "head", it is clear that he is going through some kind of mental anguish. Perhaps he is suffering with mental illness. Though the song may not have an explicit message, it is clear that he is open about his own struggles with mental illness. By using the first person, we can infer that he is sharing his personal experience with this mental suffering. By expressing his desire to "escape", Benjamin gets candid about the on-going struggle of getting out of a negative headspace. This song models the reality of mental illness. It can feel at times like a mental "prison" that we can't seem to get out of.
