         <description><![CDATA[<div>The black death was caused by fleas, that carried a disease now known as the black death. These fleas lived on rats that passed the disease onto the humans in Europe. A ship sailing in from the South carried these rats into Europe unintentionally.</div>]]></description>

Therefore, they blamed it on other things such as:<br>- Jews poisoning wells<br>- Miasma (bad/ smelly air)<br>- Some people&nbsp; believe that the Plague was a punishment sent from God for their sins. They thought that the best way to get rid of you wickedness was to beat it out of you. In Europe, flagellants went around whipping themselves. </div>]]></description>
