Dangerous to place yourselves in a situation one on one with a student in your car / outside the school environment.
Liability i.e. car crash etc
All it takes is one negative comment from a student to potentially destroy a carer. 

Positives: 
It's a practical decision given he lives close to her mothers work.
Benefits the student's learning.
