The founder Guru Nanak thought them that there is only one god and he created the world. Nanak laid the path to salvation and that is the same as meditation. Each gurdwara contains a copy of the Adi granth, it’s also a meeting place for conducting business o the congregation and wedding and initiation ceremonies. The first worship place was built by Nanak at Kartarpur. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Separatist movement</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1947 the British colony of India was split into 2 countries, India and Pakistan. Most of the Sikhs moved to Punjab portion of India and wanted their own state. They achieved this goal in 1966. Conflict broke between the Indian government and Sikh fundamentalists,  who where demanding a seprate Sikh nation-state. In 1984 the Sikhs occupided Ahal Takht in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. In response the Indian Prime Minister ordered a military assault and the Sikhs where killed, and the Prime Minister was assassinated by the Sikhs. The conflict lasted until 1992, </div>]]></description>
