If I lived in the Hobbit House, I would feel like I was living in another world.  I could escape from reality and just relax in my underground home.  I would enjoy living at ground level and being able to see nature right outside my window.  The sod roof would also allow nature to live as part of my house. A hobbit house would be cheaper to heat because would be well insulated.
