- Lionel was convicted of killing a girl his mother was babysitting by stomping on her liver which lacerated.
- He was released on one year's house arrest and 10 years of probation. He violated probation because he was found out of the house carrying a four inch knife. This resulted him being placed on a zero tolerance probation for an additional 5 years.
- He was then charged with armed burglary with battery.
-Since he violated his probation he got a 30 year sentence.

He could have avoided being on probation and house arrest. Juvie could have put him back on the right track by letting him out at 18 to start a better life. I think in the circumstances of him violating probation was handled well because they gave him a second chances and once he blew it they gave him a longer sentence.
